Water world

Wow I love Flaxmere Waterworld.

Oh my gosh!  I love Flaxmere Waterworld we started at the beginning of the term there are lots of swimming activities and and we went there to learn how to swim. We went to Flaxmere Waterworld because it has a big pool and a little pool for little kids and a big one for adults teenagers and big kids.  Room 18,19,20 and 21 went.

When I got in I smelt the fresh water and I could feel the hard lumpy walls. l heard the water gently flowing in

the pool .l could see people in the big pool doing freestyle. It was the first time for me to go there then I heard SPLASH! A lady jumped in the pool and a drop of water flicked on me.

I am in the small pool because I am short I don't like being the third smallest kid in the class. We went to Waterworld in a bus and when we got there we ran in and got changed into our togs. We put our clothes in our tog bag and went out of the changing rooms and put our shoes and togs bags in the cubbies and sat down in a line. We have a  few people in the small pool we have Phoenix, Riley, Disha and two more people. The person who helps children to swim said “let's walk to the pool” and “slip in the pool safely” so we did it. Then she shouted “can you do freestyle” and we shouted “yes we can” and she tapped us on the head 1-2-3 there are two of each number and we did freestyle to the end.

My favorite thing that we did at Flaxmere Waterworld was going in the big pool and we had life jackets on because  we could jump in the pool and do sculling it was cool.

When room 21 came to Flaxmere Waterworld we hopped out of the pool and got changed and went to school again. I felt nervous at the beginning.

Maui and the sun

Māui and the sun

It was a dark night Māui and his brothers couldn’t eat their food and Māui got mad because there was no light. Māui said he goes far too fast, Māui called his brothers and they came out of the darkness .Māui said to his brothers we’re going to catch that sun. His brothers laughed .”How are we going to do that?” they said. We’re going to make flax ropes and once the ropes were finished the brothers hid behind some large rocks. Māui said when I say go, jump out from behind the rocks and grab the sun with the ropes. One...two...three go all four brothers. They jumped out and grabbed the sun and he said “stop stop what are you doing?” You're going to kill me”  the sun moaned. “Let him go”  the brothers yelled “let  him go”. The sun went slowly across the sky and Māui and his brothers could eat their food and hunt so they lived happily ever after.

Sticks

In the morning when I wake up I saw little people in my kitchen. I don’t know why they were there, I think they’re cutting wood. I picked one of the tiny men up and he said hello. I got a big fright and jumped in the cupboard and shut the doors and I was screaming as loud as a lions roar. When I hopped out of the cupboard the little people weren't there so I went to make a coffee and I went in the lounge and sitting on the table in the lounge was the little people just staring at me. I said “what do you want ? They said they were getting tired of cutting wood their whole life so I said you don’t have to you can live with me. I said they loved living with me because I was nice and I even gave them the crumbs from the cake that I made.  I even took them to the park to have a picnic and they went home and went to bed.

Hawkes Bay Fire

SMASH CRASH BOOM! Went the gigantic house falling as the smoke rose from the fire everyone quickly whizzed out the door before they got burnt. Fire trucks police and ambulance came to the rescue. Fire trucks have lots of tools and suits to save people and police have handcuffs. All the kids came running out the door, they were running all around the place soon everyone in the city was staring at the burning house falling. Soon they made it into an indoor playground but after two weeks when it was built a giant fire monster came and destroyed the city and a man was in the shower and he didn't even realise the monster took his roof off. Everyone saw him and as soon as the monster left everyone quickly ran into there old shaggy houses and shut all of the curtains, windows and doors. The kids were terrified and a truck full of lollies and ice cream came to cheer them up but the fire monster came back. The kids dropped there lollies and ran inside and the candy melted into goo. The flames rose in the air like a helicopter taking off - everyone run from!

Swing Bridge

WALT - use our senses and the 5 W’s when writing

Creak creak went the old shaggy destroyed bridge as Carman, Dad and I crossed the bridge but suddenly we heard a loud scream. We quickly ran back across the bridge but the bridge broke. Suddenly Dad remembered his axe and he cut down a tree and we quickly walked across the tree and ran home and had a big feast and went to bed and we never ever went back to the jungle again. Then in the morning we went to the park and had a picnic and in our picnic basket we had cake, bananas, apples and biscuits. We had a run around a big field and we all went home.
